FeesStandard Fee. The standard fee to register for the 33rd Underwater Mining Institute is US$350, if prepaid by August 15, 2003. This fee covers welcoming reception and registration, technical sessions, UMI banquet, and 2004 membership to the International Marine Minerals Society, a non-profit professional organization promoting interchange between government, academic, and industry expertise on marine minerals interests. Single Day Fee. The single-day fee is US$250, if prepaid by August 15, 2002. Student Fee. The student fee is US$75. This includes the welcoming reception and registration, both technical sessions, and the UMI banquet. Students must provide verification of student status and be willing to assist during the conference, if needed. Late Registration Fee. A late fee of US$25 will be added to registrations received after August 15, 2003. Banquet Fee. The banquet will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jeju and will feature Ambassador Satya Nandan, Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority as our distinguished guest speaker. Also offered will be exquisite Korean fare and entertainment. The cost for the banquet is included in the Standard Fee. However, if you are a single-day registrant or if you would like to bring a guest to the banquet, please provide an additional US$45 to the registration form. Geotechnical Field Tour. This optional feature of the UMI includes visits to Korean geotechnical and cultural interests on Jeju Island. The cost of US$45 covers surface transportation, lunch, and applicable admission fees. Return to Jeju Hotel Hana will be made nightly. PaymentsPlease submit the Registration Form with your payment by15 August 2003. Payments may be made by check in U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank, or bank drafts, should be made payable to Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii or RCUH and mailed to the UMI conference coordinator. Payments may also be made by credit card, cashier's check, or money order. RefundsRefunds will be made for written cancellations received by August 1, 2003. LodgingA special rate is being offered to UMI guests for US$76 per night (single or double accommodations, includes breakfast, service charge, and VAT) at Jeju Hotel Hana 2812-2 Saekdal-dong, Seogwipo City Jeju 697-130 Korea. Reservations must be made through the Conference Coordinator by completing the Registration Form by August 15.
