Deadline for UMI Registration, Hotel Reservations, Geotechnical Field Tour and all related conference activities is JULY 15, 2014. Late registration to the UMI conference (with late fee) will be accepted, however, hotel reservations (and at the special UMI rate), geotechnical field tour and other functions cannot be guaranteed after the deadline.

Registration and Guest Function Fees

Registration Fees (Deadline July 15, 2014)

Several items in the UMI fee schedule below are discounted for current members of the International Marine Minerals Society:

Regular Fee: Member USD 450, Non Member USD 510. The regular fee covers the welcoming reception, three technical sessions and materials, lunches (note: breakfast is provided to registered guests of the Olissippo Oriente Hotel), UMI Banquet, visit to Oceanàrio de Lisboa, and membership to IMMS for 2015.
Single-Day Fee: Member USD 350, Non Member USD 410. This entitles the participant to one technical session on September 22, 23 or 24, which includes lunch, conference materials, and membership to IMMS for 2015.
Student Fee: USD 350. The student fee includes the welcoming reception, three technical sessions and materials, lunches, the UMI Banquet, visit to Oceanàrio de Lisboa, and membership to IMMS for 2015.
Geotechnical Field Tour Fee, Wednesday, September 24 afternoon to Friday, September 26 evening (optional at additional cost).

Participants must select one of three groups. Each group accommodates up to 30 persons for a maximum total of 90 participants. Group 1 and Group 2 will go to south Portugal, while Group 3 will go to central Portugal. All three Groups will end up in south Portugal in Algarve-Albufeira. Fees will cover 2 hotel nights (9/24 and 9/25), breakfasts, lunches, bus transport, guides and entry fees. The Fees are as follows:
Group 1: Neves Corvo Mine, Single USD 350, Double USD 550 for 2 persons
Group 2: Aljustrel Mine, Single USD 350, Double USD 550 for 2 persons
Group 3: Panasqueira Mine, Single USD 335, Double USD 500 for 2 persons

(Note: A separate hotel reservation and payment will be necessary for the evening of 9/26. Single or Double Room (run of house) is €100/room/night. Single and Double Sea View Rooms are €130 and €140, respectively per room/night.)
Strategic Planning Meeting Fee, Friday, September 26 evening (hotel check in), Saturday, September 27 to Sunday, September 28 afternoon: USD 375. To be held at the Grande Real Santa Eulàlia Resort in Algarve-Albufeira. Fee covers 2 hotel nights (9/26 and 9/27), breakfasts and lunches.

(Note: A separate hotel reservation and payment will be necessary for the evening of 9/28 or additional nights. Single or Double Room (run of house) is €100/room/night. Single and Double Sea View Rooms are €130 and €140, respectively per room/night.)
Late Fee: A late fee of USD 50 is assessed for those registering after July 15, 2014.

Guest Fee Options (Deadline July 15, 2014)

Guests and spouses of UMI participants are, in addition to the geotechnical field tour above, welcome to join the following Lisbon activities:

Spouses-only Lisbon Day Tour, Monday, September 22, starting at 0900: USD 100. This guided tour of special Lisbon highlights is an all-day activity. Travel by tram through historic districts, lunch will be provided, and spend the afternoon at Vila de Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered for many the most romantic town in Portugal. Other breathtaking stops will be made along the way. If the minimum of 20 persons is not met, alternate arrangements will be made for our guests and spouses. Banquet at Estufa Fria, Monday, September 22, evening: USD 75. Payments

The deadline for UMI Conference Registration, Hotel Reservations and related functions and activities is July 15, 2014. Late registrations will incur a late fee of $50 and is acceptable for conference registrations. Hotel reservations and Geotechnical Field Tour, after the deadline, are not guaranteed.

Payment is preferred by Visa or MasterCard credit cards completed online at www.underwatermining.org or via UMI 2014 Conference Registration Form. Checks payable to IMMS (International Marine Minerals Society) and wire transfers (contact Conference Coordinator for information) are acceptable.

Cancellations

Refunds (less USD 50 processing fee) will be allowed for written cancellations (email or fax) received by the Conference Coordinator by August 15, 2014.
