The Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering (IDSSE), host of this year’s Underwater Mining Conference, is offering free registrations to 20 students. This generous offer is intended to encourage young talent into this emerging underwater mining industry. To apply for this UMC 2019 free conference registration, please email your CV (curriculum vitae) to Xiao Jianyu of IDSSE. Click here for details (PDF).
New for Chinese Participants! It is preferred that you pay the registration fee through our Register Now link. If you are unable to complete it, you will have the option to pay the fee with Union Pay cards to a Chinese account. Please complete the Alternate Registration Form for Chinese Participants (Word .docx) and email it to Xiao Jianyu. A conference invoice or receipt will be provided by IMMS in an international standard format.

Registration is discounted for current members of the International Marine Minerals Society (IMMS):

- Field Tour Fee: USD 75
- Option I: Visit to Shilu Iron Ore Mine (starts at 8:30 am) or
- Option II: Visit to Areca Valley Ethnic Minorities Village (starts at 11:30 am).

- UMC 2019 Abstracts (printed volume): USD 60
Each participant will receive a thumb drive containing the Program Agenda and the Abstracts. This fee is for those wishing to purchase a printed volume.
Guest Fee Options
Spouses and guests of UMC participants are welcome to join us:
- Spouse/Guest Fee: USD 115
Includes Welcome Reception on September 22, IDSSE Cocktail Reception on September 24, and UMC Banquet on September 26
- Spouse/Guest Tour Fee: USD 75
This is a special tour within Hainan for spouses or guests (not for UMC participants) and includes a guide, transport, entry fees, and lunch

Cancellations
Refunds (less USD 75 processing fee) will be allowed for email cancellations if received by the Sanya Conference Coordinator (Chinese) or Executive Director (English) by August 15, 2019.
